You may have seen the joint statement issued by MTN Uganda and Airtel Uganda informing the public of a third party systems incident which has impacted domestic mobile money services and bank to mobile money transactions. The issue is with a local aggregator to which neither the MFS Africa Hub nor the Beyonic platform is connected. We want to reassure you that no fraudulent transactions were processed or attempted to process through the MFS Africa Hub or the Beyonic platform.
All MFS Africa and Beyonic connections with MTN and Airtel in Uganda are through secure direct site to site IPSec VPN connections. All transactions are secured against external threats and monitored in real time 24/7. However, we remain vigilant and in close communication with the affected partners. We will update you on any developments that may have a direct impact on your service.
