Dare Okoudjou is the founder and CEO of MFS Africa. Prior to founding MFS Africa, he worked at MTN Group, where he developed their mobile payment strategy and led its implementation across MTN Operations in 21 countries across Africa and the Middle East. He began his career as a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Paris, holds a MSc. in Telecom Engineering from ENST-Paris and a MBA from INSEAD. Dare speaks fluent English, French, and Yoruba.
Rachel manages investor relations, strategic partnerships, and talent. Prior to joining MFS Africa, she was a consultant with Bain & Co., where she worked on strategy and operations projects for telecom and financial services clients. She began her career at the Millennium Challenge Corporation, working on large-scale development grants in West Africa. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School and an AB from Smith College. She speaks fluent English and French, as well as basic Wolof.
Filip Nilsson is Director of Corporate Development, supporting the company to assess and execute on growth opportunities. Filip has held many hats at MFS Africa, having been involved with the company since its early days. He previously worked in telecoms at Ericsson, tested billing system at CGI Systems, and a stint as an Associate at NIB Capital Partners.
Maz designed and built the MFS platform from the ground up. He began his career at MALSWITCH, the national switch for Malawi, where he led the development and operations of critical financial systems such as EFT Switch, RTGS and ECH. Following the spin-off of MALSWITCH from the Reserve Bank of Malawi, Maz led a team of 26 operation managers and system analysts. He received his MSc. Software Engineering from EPFL (Switzerland) and his MBA from INSEAD. He speaks fluent English and French.
Rashi Gupta is Chief Operating Officer at MFS Africa, responsible for overall alignment and execution on company strategy. In her prior life, she worked at Apple to bring iPhone 6 and 6s from development builds to high-volume production and led the launch of the first Apple operations site in India. She also acted as the Chief of Staff and New Technology leader for the Engine business at Cummins Africa ME. Rashi began her career working as an engineer at Shell in their downstream operations and holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management. She speaks fluent English and Hindi as well as basic French.
Mxolisi Msutwana is the Chief Network Operations Officer with more than 15 years of overall experience in the mobile network, tech and fintech industries. He is responsible for expanding and managing the MFS Africa payments network. Some of his career highlights include implementing subscriber device management over-the-air, numberless SIM card provisioning and developed the technical SIM card strategy for Cell C as a Senior Engineer. As an Operations Manager for MTN SA, he was responsible for operations and evolution of voice services and all contact centre infrastructure and technologies. He holds a B.Tech Elect Eng from Tshwane University of Technology, with scholarship to Fachhochschule Konstanz (Germany); a PDBA and MBA from GIBS.
Julie Neogy is Managing Director, Global Payments with expertise is in Commercial Strategy and Product Marketing. Prior to joining MFS, she worked at Skechers where she was in charge of Ecommerce and Mobile Marketing globally. Julie also brings social media and predictive algorithm experience working at Myspace and Rancard in Accra, Ghana. She holds a BA in Business Economics and French from UC Santa Barbara and an MBA from Pepperdine University. She speaks fluent English and French, and conversational Spanish.
Patrick Gutmann is the Managing Director of MFS Africa’s UK and European entities and heads up one of the Business Units (BUs) within the Group – BU Banks, Institutions, and Governments (BIG). BU BIG is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with Banks, Non-Bank Financial Institutions, and its engagement with regulators, governments, and the development sector. In addition, it houses several key Group functions, including Legal & Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Governance & Company Secretariat, Treasury & FX Management, and Risk & Compliance. Prior to joining MFS Africa, Patrick was the CEO of UBA UK, and prior to that he was Managing Director, Corporate & Institutional Banking at BACB. Prior to these London-based positions, Patrick spent many years based on the African countries with Ecobank and Commercial International Bank (CIB) in Egypt. Patrick began his career with Wells Fargo and then ABN AMRO, with whom he was based in the US, Europe and then several years across Asia. Patrick is a seasoned international executive with a diverse background and experience in managing cross-cultural teams across a variety of geographies, businesses, and functions. Patrick holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in Chicago, a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Economics from Macalester College in St. Paul, and an International Baccalaureate diploma from St. Mary’s International School in Tokyo.
Luke Kyohere is the Chief Product Officer at MFS Africa. He is a software and telecommunications engineer and serial entrepreneur with a strong passion for building innovative technology in emerging markets, especially in the mobile financial sector. Over his 20-year career, he has worked in various capacities for telecommunication companies, internet service providers, and financial technology organizations across East Africa, Europe, South America, and the USA. Some notable roles include being part of the pioneer teams that set up the Uganda and Rwanda domain registry systems and the first Uganda Internet Exchange Point in the early 2000s, and leading global cloud and mobile agriculture technology teams for Grameen Foundation across Africa, South America, and Asia. As a serial entrepreneur, he has founded 4 companies and sold two. His latest venture, Beyonic, grew to become a leading, trusted fintech brand before being acquired by MFS Africa in 2020. Luke now serves as MFS Africa's Chief Product Officer, leading its product strategy and innovation efforts. Luke holds a business graduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, USA.
Richard Hadley is the Strategy & Sales Support Director responsible for commercial strategy and sales operations in Global Payments. He brings over 20 years international experience from working in a variety of roles across the payment, mobile and banking industries. Richard has previously worked at Visa, Fundamo, T-Mobile UK, Analysys Mason and ASB Bank, and holds a Master of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Sidali has more than 15 years of sales, retail and financial management experience in various sectors, with a focus in the Telco sector in Algeria, Russia and emergent markets, including CIS countries and south Asia. Sidali previously worked at BNP Paribas, Areva, Sonae Sierra and Veon. Sidali holds a graduate diploma in Exact Sciences with a specialization in Chemistry from the University of Technology in Algiers, as well as an MBA from Paris Graduate School of Management.
Sidali speaks fluent English, French, Arabic and conversational Russian, he is the proud father of 3 daughters, he enjoys outdoor activities and reading books.
Sharon manages partner integrations and new service launches. She has worked at Wal-Mart Corporation and Standard Chartered. She gained experience in the telecommunications sector with MTN Cameroon, where she worked on Mobile Money. She received her BSc from Purdue University and her MBA from American University. Sharon speaks fluent English and French.
Fulgence is part of the Banks, Institutions & Governments business unit, and heads up the business development activities for the financial institutions vertical. Prior to joining MFS Africa in 2018, Fulgence dedicated 18 years to successfully optimizing the business performance of major service providers in the telecommunications industry in Africa, Middle East and Europe. He worked at Syniverse Technologies, heading sales and business development activities in Africa with a focus on Data Monetization, Analytics and Fraud/Revenue Assurance solutions. He also held various international sales management roles at BICS, Nokia and in the mining industry. Fulgence holds a Master in Engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles, a MSc in Engineering from the University of Glasgow and a Master in Business Management from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
Diana Mtombeni is a Senior Account Manager on the Commercial team. She brings over 8 years of Account and Relationship Management working across Africa, previously within the airline industry working for Qatar Airways and more recently as Regional Sales Supervisor for Africa at Cathay Pacific. She holds a BCom Degree in Marketing, and a PMD from GIBS. Diana enjoys hiking, running and high impact fitness classes. She is originally from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. She speaks Ndebele and Shona and hopes to learn some French now that she’s joined MFS Africa.
Jane Robinson is the Product Director in the MFS Africa Product team. She analyses requirements and develops solutions across a variety of different initiatives. In addition, she manages a small team of business analysts. In an era where adaptability is one of the most important qualities to have, Jane enjoys and invite change: “Seeing change as an opportunity rather than a threat creates a whole new perspective and approach to new situations.”. Jane is a motivated, CBAP Certified, Business Analyst with over 10 years of business analysis experience in the Financial Services environment. Her experience includes working as a senior resource on large scale, complex initiatives involving interactions with multiple business and technical stakeholders across the world.
Zak Hosenbux is the General Manager: Homeland with over 15 years of international experience in product management and creative direction, and now, looking at operations and business development. He started his career in Malaysia, while studying, and has since then worked in product management and creative design/UI/UX for payment solutions in areas like online gaming/casinos, e-commerce platforms, and Facebook games and applications. He holds a BSc (Honours) in Information Technology from the National University of Malaysia (NUoM). He speaks English, French and Malay/Indonesian.
Natasha Subramany works at MFS Africa as a Business Analyst, having begun her professional career at Verizon Business and has over 10 years of telecoms experience. She holds certifications in both Business Analysis and Revenue Assurance. Her interests include reading thrillers, spending time outdoors and making a mean curry.
Rajat Mishra is a Program Manager at MFS Africa and has over 11 years of experience in IT industry ranging from various domains like software support, hospitality, banking, and payments. A Fin-tech and innovation enthusiast, Rajat currently leads MFS Africa's cards and payments initiative and focusses on creating innovative solutions to connect conventional and unconventional payment landscapes keeping business vision as a priority. Rajat began his career working as a Technical Analyst, gradually moving in Business Analysis and System Analysis streams with industry leaders like Mastercard Inc. & First National Bank, S.A driving product analysis, development, and support. He speaks fluent English & Hindi and loves watching movies and travelling to new places. He currently holds Masters’ in Commerce specializing in Applied Information Systems from University of Johannesburg.
Maurice manages the Network Operation's team. After obtaining his Masters's in Industrial Engineering in Benin, his thirst for challenge led him to MFS. In his spare time, he enjoys the mystery of a good book and loves to watch National Geographic. He speaks fluent French and English.
Martin Mbonu is the Director of Projects who believes he was born a software developer. With a Computer Science degree from UNIZIK in Nigeria, he has a keen interest in how technology provides efficiency in business. Previously providing support for Finacle bank, he's happily jumped ship to join MFS.
Kim Scott oversees the end-to-end Reconciliation and Settlements process, ensuring that all partners receive their NSP’s (Net Settlement Positions) through timely settlement and collection of funds. Her primary experience comes from telecommunications, where she worked for a number of major mobile networks like Cell C, VodacomSA and MTNSA handling Credit Management, Credit Control and Reconciliation within wholesale, retail, commercial and consumer divisions. Kim further completed her certificate in Digital Money and an additional 7 AMI certificates. She loves singing, and enjoys cooking and baking for her family of 4.
Moses Marimira is a governance, risk and compliance professional with more than 20 years’ experience in the finance and fintech sectors. Prior to joining MFS Africa, he worked at Hello Paisa as Compliance Lead. His expertise includes risk management and internal controls, business process optimisation, anti-money laundering, sanctions screening and regulatory management. He holds an MBA from MANCOSA and various certifications in governance, auditing and business analysis. Moses enjoys running in his spare time.
Natasha Netha is the Employee Experience Manager whose role within MFS Africa is to drive the Employee Experience function, working with managers across MFS Africa’s different departments to bring top quality talent into the company and ensure high levels of engagement across the employee life cycle. Her career, in talent acquisition and management, began in Australia where she worked for Queensland Health before moving back to South Africa to join Michael Page, a global recruitment firm headquartered in the UK. She holds a Masters in Organisational Psychology from the University of Cape Town and completed a Management Development Programme with the African Management Institute. She speaks English, isiNdebele and basic French.
Lutfiyya is responsible for managing the Software Development team at MFS Africa. As a senior developer with over 9 years of experience in the development space, she leads the team on MFS Africa development projects, such as financial products for mobile applications, e-commerce portals, and system integration projects. She holds a BSC Computer Science degree (Cum-Laude) from UNISA and is currently pursuing a PGDIP in General Management and Business Administration and an MBA from GIBS.
Reddy Guddeti is a Software Developer with over 9 years of IT experience who joined MFS Africa having worked for various technology consulting companies such as Capgemini Technology services and Zensar Technologies and Accenture. His expertise lies in the design and development of complex and multi-tier web based business applications. He has a solid understanding of various software development methodologies, having been exposed to multiple projects in various geographies. Reddy holds a Masters’ in Computer Applications from Madras University.
Martin Annandale is the VP, Southern & East Africa having previously worked with Tigo Tanzania where he was the Head of MFS Partnerships for the last 3 years. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Investment Management from the University of Pretoria and comes with a wealth of experience in mobile money and money transfer. His strengths are in scaling commercial products, product development and data-based decision making. He loves socializing with friends and family and is always up for doing any activity that involves being outdoors.
Mathilde Putshila is a Senior Account Manager at MFS Africa. She hails from the DRC and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication. Mathilde started her journey with MFS Africa in 2014, as a Customer Support Agent to Deployment Specialist before taking up the Senior Account Manager’s position in the MTO team. She enjoys onboarding new partners and managing active partner accounts. Mathilde is a fluent French, English and Swahili speaker.
Phinées is a Junior Business Analyst in the Product team at MFS Africa. He also spent many years supporting operations & integrations areas. Prior to joining MFS Africa, he worked as an IT support administrator and decision support analyst. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Communication Technology with a focus on Business Applications. Phinées speaks English, French and Swahili, and enjoys playing lead guitar.
Abiodun Ogunlabi has over 16 years of experience spanning FMCG, Telecoms and VAS industries. He has been involved in product launches across West Africa including Ariel detergent, MTN Boostercard and MTN Mobile Money. He began his career at Procter & Gamble West Africa and later moved on to MTN Nigeria. Abiodun holds a BSc in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Lagos and an MBA from Lagos Business School. He speaks fluent English and Yoruba.
Charles Anakwe is the Director of Infrastructure & Information Security who joined MFS Africa from Swifta Systems and Services ltd, a company that supports Mobile Money in various MTN operations in Africa. He has extensive knowledge in the technical and business realm of Mobile Money and payments systems. Charles was born in Nigeria and holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria and is also certified RedHat Linux and CISCO network professional. He speaks fluent English and Ibo, as well as survival French.
Adelaide is a Financial Accountant at MFS Africa Limited. She has over 16 years of experience in the field of accounting and finance. Prior to joining MFS Africa, she worked as the Finance Manager at Publicis Africa Group (Ghana) from the year 2012 to 2014. Between the years 2006 to 2012 she was a Treasury/Accounts Payable officer/team leader. She also worked with Ghana Standards Authority as the Standards & Certification Divisional Accountant from the year 2004 to 2006. Adelaide holds a Higher National Diploma (Accounting option) from the Accra Technical University, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana) and an MBA in Finance from the Pentecost University College, Ghana. Adelaide is a team player, industrious and reliable.
Tlotlo joined the MFS Africa team as a Legal Advisor, straight from private practice, skilled in Commercial Law and Commercial Litigation. She holds nearly 7 years of experience in her field, 4 of which are as an Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa. During her tenure as a practicing attorney, her clients included Engineering and Construction companies, Banks, Investment Companies, Mining Companies, State Owned Companies and some departments of the Gauteng provincial government. Tlotlo enjoys hiking, horseback riding, long walks on the beach and tank diving.
Mary Koranteng works as the Associate Manager with the MTO Team. She has developed relationships with Partners with her 7 years' experience working as a Partner Support Analyst in MFS Africa. Mary holds a Bachelor's degree in Management with Computing and a Masters’ of Business Administration from the University of Ghana.
Debbie currently works as Business Analyst at MFS Ghana. She started her career on the Mobile Money team at MTN, handling reconciliation and settlements. She received her Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. She speaks English and Fante. Debbie loves to sing although admits she has a terrible voice. She loves to learn new things.
Jamie is a highly experienced project management professional with over 10 years of experience in different industries such as retail, petroleum and banking, where she held various project management roles. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Commerce where she focused on operational risk management and also holds a Master's degree in Innovation and Technology from The DaVinci Institute.
Anusha Garlapto is a Senior Manager: Software Development with over 8+ years of experience in software development and is an oracle certified java programmer. She leads a team of developers responsible for building Integration Projects, Partner, and AdminPortals(for better reporting). She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.
Makhosazana (Makhosi) Ngaba was previously a Project Manager with IQ Business, leading a major project for Liberty Health. Before joining IQ Business, she worked in various technology and consulting companies. She found that her strengths lay in project management rather than marketing management which was her major for her BA degree. Makhosi describes herself as hardworking and a strong relationship builder who loves to work in a challenging environment. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family.
Mathilde Putshila is a Senior Account Manager at MFS Africa. She hails from the DRC and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication.

Nené Domingos-Leyka is a Technical Support Manager at MFS Africa. She has solid experience in customer support within the financial services sector, having previously been responsible for the analysis and resolution of ATM-related customer queries for ATM Solutions. This enabled her to exceptionally handle and resolve customers’ queries with Orange Money Transfert International. She has successfully integrated MTOs and MNOs to the MFS Africa API and this paved the way for her to excel in the technical department where she now manages the data analytics of real time transactions for proactive operation. She enjoys cooking, baking and loves spending time with her family. After a year studying a BA degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, she realized her true calling is in Psychology (child) which she intends to pursue.
Tumi has over 9 years of experience supporting C-suite level individuals and prior to joining us worked for Old Mutual, JP Morgan and McKinsey. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree on a part-time basis through the University of South Africa. She enjoys reading, exploring new technologies and hiking and speaks isiZulu, seSotho and Afrikaans.
Viviane Amundala ensures Reconciliations & Settlements of Partner Accounts are done on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis depending on their requirements. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with previous working experience as a Forex Consultant - MTN Mobile Money Online. For leisure, Viviane enjoys traveling.
Philisile Dube was born and raised in the Kingdom of Eswatini, and she currently works as a Data Analyst at MFS Africa. Before joining MFS Africa, she worked in various foundations, Microfinance organisations, and consulting companies in the United States of America, Mauritius, and the Kingdom of Eswatini. Philisile holds a Masters’ degree in Social Protection Financing from the University of Mauritius and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) Honours degree from Kenyon College in Ohio. She speaks fluent English, siSwati, and isiZulu and outside of work enjoys spending time with her family.
Yacouba is a Partner Support Service Manager at MFS Africa, leads a team of advisors to exceed customer expectations on a digital platform. He started his journey with the company in 2015 as a Partner support Analyst then progressively moved to Team lead MNO and Banks. He holds a BSC Degree in Information Technology Management from RGIT, a certificate in Digital Money, a qualified Assessor, and Moderator with MICTseta. Proud to join MFS Africa, Yacouba enjoys resolving complex technical customer inquiries.

Pachely Mwinaminay is a Senior Operation Analyst – Onboarding & Systems. He provides technical support for partners and executing technical integrations with future partners integrating into the MFS Africa Network on ensuring the latest MFS Africa API, API features (integrations evolution) and ensure best-API practice are implemented by partners throughout the ecosystem. He has more than 4 years of experience in Fintech|Mobile Money. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. Pachely was born and raised in DRC and is fluent in English, French, Swahili.
Munayen Shama is from DRC, and prior to joining MFS Africa she worked at Olimp Sports Betting as a manger for 3 years in Cape Town. She holds a diploma in Marketing and a Bachelor degree in Project management from Cape Peninsula University of Technology. She is fluent in English, French and Lingala.
Suresh Bikki is a Software Architect responsible for Software applications & products architecture and solutioning. Techno-Functional Professional Software Architect with over 10 years of IT experience in architecture, design, development and managing teams around web application development, product development and enterprise application development. Worked on large scale software systems for financial services, eCommerce, Banking, Telecommunications. Holding a Masters’ in Computer Applications (M.C.A.). from Acharya Nagarjuna University. Prior to MFS Africa, he worked for different banks in South Africa, eCommerce company and Telecom company in UK.
Martin joined MFS Africa in November 2016 as a Support Intern and five years down the line, he has graduated to the role of Support Analyst. Prior to joining MFS Africa, Martin was a Sales Executive, working for Bank of Africa in Accra. Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in BA Social and Development Studies and a Master's in Development Management from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) with thesis on Mobile Money Adoption in Emerging Markets, a case of Ghana. Vivian is currently a support intern at MFS Africa. She started her career at UT Life Insurance and was in charge of handling customer complaints and closing up of businesses. She then moved to Toptech Transport and Logistics, still handling customer complaints. She speaks French and English and loves to read and listen to music.
Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Tinashe brings over 8 years of Accounting experience. In 2010 he started his articles with Crowe Horwath where he developed his accounting and auditing skills. Upon completion of his articles he took up the opportunity to join their IT Audit team where he gained an understanding of various IT systems and processes. His love for accounting and IT led him to join MFS Africa. Prior to joining MFS Africa, Tinashe worked as a Staff Accountant for Four Seasons Hotel Johannesburg and he holds a PGDip in Accounting Sciences (UNISA) as well as a CISA qualification.
Barkha Kumari works in the Tech team as a Senior Manger, Software Development-Internal Tools. She joined MFS Africa from Discovery, where she was previously on contract. She has several years of experience in Software Development with a focus on web application development and is an Oracle certified professional java programmer. She holds a BSc in IT and a Masters in Computer Applications from Karim City College and Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management. She speaks English, Hindi, and Telugu.
Fabrice Degla was born and raised in Benin, and has been in the Information Technology for over 10 years. He is an Oracle Certified Java Associate Programmer, and a Certified Comptia A+ and N+. Prior to joining MFS he has spent 6 years as a Support Technician, also Web Development and Software Development. He is open-minded, loves technology and enjoys resolving problems by coding. Fabrice is fluent in English, French, Idasha and Fongbe.

Ameshan Govender is a Reconciliations Specialist with vast experience in Logistics, Manufacturing and Telecommunications. He is passion about analysing and reconciling systems and large accounts, with years of experience in Finance working with Payables and Receivables. Ameshan is detailed orientated ensuring balance to the last cent. Outside work, he loves music, football and spending quality time with his family.
Ebelenna Okoye is a seasoned IT Professional with experience with organizations such as Quanteq, and FHI360. Ebelenna holds a B.Eng in Electrical Electronics Engineering from Madonna University, Nigeria and he is a Cisco Certified Network Professional, RedHat Certified Engineer, and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert. He speaks fluent English and Igbo.
Conny Maaba joined MFS Africa in October 2018 and is responsible for ensuring that our office environment is kept neat and tidy for both staff and visitors. In her spare time she enjoys reading and catching up on her favourite TV shows. She speaks English, Sepedi and Afrikaans and is a mother of three.
Warren has over 4 years of experience as an IT and Infrastructure Technician gained predominately within the financial services sector. In his previous role, prior to joining MFS Africa, he led an IT support desk and possesses excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills. He has studied courses in Information Technology and Operating Systems and speaks English, Sepedi, isiZulu and Xitsonga.
Mandisa Mbatha works at MFS Africa as a Treasury Analyst based in South Africa. She began her career at Nedbank Retail where she eventually moved into the Treasury department (Money Market Dealing Desk). After four years at Nedbank, she moved to London, where she joined Barclays before returning to South Africa, three years later. Upon returning she worked for Deutsche Securities, Credit Suisse and State Bank of India, taking on various roles in Treasury Back office operations, foreign exchange settlements and clearing. Her most recent role was within Treasury at SA Express Airways. She loves to travel and socialize with friends.
Abdul is the Uganda Administrator in the COO’s office, based in Kampala. Abdul was most recently an associate with the Innovation Village. He has a background in Mechanical Engineering and is passionate about AI and automation. He has been working on addressing Financial Exclusion and Inaccessibility for youth in Uganda through a Sacco that promotes saving and lending.
Adrian Ciesielski drives Sales Strategy for Emerging Enterprise. He is usually based in Nairobi but is presently in the US. Adrian started his career as a start-up enthusiast building and managing various digital portfolios. He studied sustainable business at Rhodes University where he obtained his MBA and proceeded to work for a digital consultancy specialising in online strategy. For the past three and a half years he has been working with Ad Dynamo, scaling Twitter, Snapchat, Verizon Media, Blue Robot and Spotify throughout SSA. He joins MFS Africa with the objective to to advance Africa's role as a global digital leader. As a side note, he also has over 3000+ Lego sets, loves gaming (DOTA & COD), enjoys skiing and has a slight addiction to business books.
Annah Ngoepe joined MFS Africa as a Partner Support Analyst having previously worked at Bolt, formerly Taxify, as a Customer Support Analyst. She was born in Pretoria, and as a young child moved to Mahikeng. After high school, she went to the University of the Free State to study Geography and Environmental Sciences, which makes her really good with maps. She speaks Setswana, Sepedi and a little bit of every other South African language. She enjoys reading biographies and her party trick is making great cocktails.
Alejandro Vilar works as in the Risk and Compliance team at MFS Africa. He was born in Venezuela and moved to Spain for University. After graduating as a lawyer, he started his career in compliance with a money remittance company (Ria) and then went on to work as a Senior Consultant for EY for three years. On a personal side he likes to ride his motorcycle on the weekends discovering small Spanish towns, and also enjoys playing with friends on Xbox.
Alex Russell-Smith has 9 years’ experience in management, financial reporting, modelling, developing and executing strategy, operations and best practice controls. Prior to joining MFS Africa, Alex spent two years in Johannesburg as a Regional Financial Controller for Weir Minerals. He led changes in financial reporting and operations for a BBBEE carve-out, transformed regional cash management reporting and refreshed departmental processes, including development of an automated month-end consolidation reporting tool. He is a registered Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland, having worked with EY (Ernst & Young) in the UK for four years. He holds a MA(Hons) in Economics and Environmental Studies from Edinburgh University and is completing his MBA at Warwick Business School. Alex is fluent in English and proficient in Hungarian.
Arnel Ntumba Kabeya works as a Reconciliation Analyst helping the finance team reconcile and settle accounts. She hails from Congo DRC but currently resides in Pretoria, South Africa. Arnel holds a Bcom degree in Supply Chain and Operations Management with experience taking up various roles in Finance. She enjoys reading, listening to music, cooking and working out with a recent found interest in Programming through Python. Arnel is fluent in English, French and Swahili.
Axel is half Swedish and half French having been born in Sweden and spent most of his life in France. He is currently studying in The USA and double majoring in International Business and Finance. Last year he did an internship at Ibanfirst where he was in the Middle Office in charge of KYC files and some KYT. He is passionate about sports, having played tennis since he was 5 years old and currently playing NCAA D1 college Tennis for his university in the USA. He also enjoys playing and watching soccer and loves cooking.
Beth Moni is the Team Leader for the Customer Success team with 6 years of experience working in customer facing environments gained in different startup environments. She holds qualifications in finance, customer service and project management. Beth loves walking the line between professional and maverick and can be found with her nose in a book, enjoying some Japanese action manga and taking the occasional weekend road trip.
Beverly Kololi is a Quality Assurance Engineer - based in Kenya. She studied Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering at The Multimedia University of Kenya, and prior to joining MFS Africa, she was a Quality Assurance Engineer at I&M Bank, Nairobi. Beverly has a dog, Ruby, whose company she enjoys the most. She loves theatre, musicals and movies - an avid Marvel fan. She loves anything that is not outdoors and if she cannot have any of the above, she’ll pick a book to read.
Brian Mugisa is a Sales Associate, whose sales instincts and clarity of vision have led brands through rapid and continuous growth. He started his sales career in the FMCG industry, then the telecom industry, and later, the oil and gas industry. He is currently making his mark in Fintech as part of the MFS Africa Global Payments sales team, charged with management of pre-existing customers and growth of the customer base.
Ian joined MFS Africa in 2018 as a Partner Support Intern and 6 months later he moved into the role of Partner Support Agent. Prior to MFS Africa Ian worked as a Geospatial Analyst for Sambus Geospatial Limited as a Geospatial Analyst. He holds a BA degree in Geography and French from the University of Ghana, a certificate in Digital Money and a Diploma in French as a Foreign Language from L'Université d'Abommey Calavi. He has worked on API integrations and currently leads the Partner Support Team. Ian enjoys playing basketball and watching documentaries.
Carina Rumberger is the Director of People Operations at MFS Africa. Formerly the CEO of Beyonic, she brings her expertise in strategic growth, new market entry, capacity building, team and project management, systems design, and implementation to her current role. She has over 10 years of experience in Eastern and Southern Africa working in SME development, compliance, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, last-mile delivery, and management. Carina has a deep understanding of designing and implementing landscape assessments, due diligence, regulatory reviews, risk analysis, impact assessment, sustainability planning, social and biological assessments to applicable local, national, and international standards and regulations World Bank, Equator Principles, and IFC Performance Standards.
Carine Sanama is the Regional VP, Francophone Africa on the Global Payments team. Carine joined MFS Africa from Oracle Corporation in Cote d’Ivoire where she was assisting Telco, Banks and Public Sector clients in their Digital Transformation. Carine started her career at MTN Cameroon over 15 years ago; then moved to the Banking industry at CitiBank Cameroon and UBA Cameroon. Carine holds a degree in Information Technology from the University of Cape Peninsula in Capetown, a Bachelor in Business Management from Northampton Business School and completed a Management Advancement Programme from Wits Business School. She is currently doing her MBA at Northampton Business School.
Carol Bondo works as a Support Analyst and she recently completed a degree in PR and Communications from the University of Johannesburg, where she participated in several community engagement projects. She enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family. We wish them all the very best in their new roles.
Serah Cecilia Will works as a PepOps Analyst at MFS Africa. She spent the last five plus years working for Apple as a Genius and a member of the people operations team mainly in charge of recruiting, coaching and training. Cecilia was based in London but recently relocated to Abidjan in Cote d’Ivoire. In her spare time she likes to watch football, movies, listen to music and do a little shopping therapy.
Chandra joined us as a Cyber Security & Networks Administrator. He is based in Chennai and has over 12 years of experience in Cyber security. He had previously worked at Major Banks and Telcos like Qatar National Bank, AT&T Malaysia. He is married with kids and Cricket is his favorite sport for outdoor games while chess is his favorite for indoors
Concepta Nakajooga is a Customer Support Agent who is passionate about resolving customers’ problems and finding more efficient ways to support them. She is responsible for demonstrating detailed product knowledge when assisting clients, either on the phone or on mail, and sometimes through online training sessions. Her main priority has always been finding ways to serve customers effectively and making sure they enjoy their experience on the system, in the hope of referring others who need similar services. She aims to prioritize customer needs through offering best tips which will help them easily adapt to the platform in order to meet their business goals. Before joining Beyonic, Concepta worked as a Secretary/Political Assistant in Parliament. In her free time, she likes to draw and play board games.
Crissane Simons works as a Partner Success Manager, with 10 years of experience within the Client Satisfaction/Experience field with a hardware technical background. She previously managed the Trailer Call Survey Process in MEA, with the purpose to drive and improve customer satisfaction. Crissane’s focus revolves around developing action plans based on root cause analysis to improve service levels. With her deep passion, knowledge, and understanding of client advocacy, she aims to implement strategies and practices targeted at winning and retaining customers loyalty, with the objective of long-term profitability for the organization.
Cynthia Chege, is currently a Reconciliation Analyst at MFS Africa. She started her career in Equity Bank Kenya Limited and after four years moved to South Africa. She holds a Degree in Business Administration from USIU Africa and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Wits University. Outside the office, she is committed to fitness in general and crossfit in particular. She is currently trying her hand at pottery and enjoys making organic vessels.
Daniel Cousins joined MFS Africa as a Senior Treasury Analyst. Daniel’s journey began in London with Standard Chartered bank in an operational role before moving to Currencies Direct, a fast-paced FX broker serving SME’s and private clients. During his time at Currencies Direct he wore a number of different hats, most notably Treasury and FX execution / hedging, and while there he contributed to developing new products to assist clients with their risk management. During his tenure with Currencies Direct, Daniel was given the opportunity to study with the Association of Corporate Treasurers and he successfully passed the last unit in October 2020. Thereafter he joined Crown Agents Bank with a focus on cash management, Treasury and many automation projects.
Daniel is the Head of Growth in the Emerging Enterprise Division. He is one of the co-founders of Sky-Garden which is a mobile first SaaS e-Commerce Platform for African retailers (Kenya based). They currently have 5,000 merchants on their platform and had a team size of 36 people. He has looked after aspects of brand building, UX development, product scaling, and digital marketing is going to make him an integral member of this team. He has also shown tremendous growth at his older role organisation, Uwin Iwin Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria and Ghana.
Devashni is a successful MBA and BSc professional with several other academic qualifications, displaying a track record of more than ten years of high performance. She has well-rounded financial services banking and credit risk experience at top tier financial institutions globally, looking after significant portfolios, leading large teams whilst delivering on key industry and organization-wide projects. Devashni mainly enjoys playing a musical instrument, traveling and hiking in her spare time, successfully completing several iconic summits including the Everest Base Camp trek as well as the Inca Trail in Peru. She has a keen interest in sustainable initiatives and doing good.
Diana Acosta Alarcon was born and raised in Buenos Aires and holds a Chartered Accountant degree from Argentina. She also completed a Master’s in Informatics in Spain through a scholarship granted to her by the Reserve Bank of Argentina, where she worked for over 10 years. In 1990 she moved to South Africa and started a new career path in the IT management space holding various roles within the financial services and other industry sectors. She has a combination of business and technology knowledge coupled with strong leadership and management capabilities. Diana’s passion is project management and to deliver value to businesses through successful project and programme management execution and delivery. She also loves to travel and get to know and understand other countries, people, cultures and histories.
Doreen is responsible for driving the strategic growth of MFS Africa Enterprise solutions. She has over 10 years of experience in the financial services sector in Africa, driving channel and partnership development, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, last-mile delivery and management. Formerly the Head of marketing for Beyonic, Doreen was also part of the team that launched MTN Mobile Money in Uganda and EzeeMoney Limited. Overtime, she has gained a deep understanding of the challenges, processes, & strategies related to establishing and sustainably scaling DFS products & services in emerging markets. Most notably, Doreen is the recipient of the inaugural Digital Impact Awards -Africa, “Women in FinTech Leadership Award- 2020”, which seeks to recognize and appreciate women taking the lead in using DFS to promote gender equality.
David Dornyoh is a Senior Operations Analyst in Network Department who helps MFS Africa partners with API integrations issue in order to facilitate a rapid and smooth integration to the Hub. He previously worked as System Engineer at Huawei and as a Software Engineer with a number of startups across Ghana, the UK and Sweden. Outside work, David enjoys playing soccer and Scrabble.
Duncan Ireri believes he falls into the small group of people who have their hobby as their work. He works as a Technical Lead and often describes the terminal as his home and the text editor his couch; from fixing avionics equipment to fixing bugs. Outside of work, he loves everything cars, the old and the new, from spending hours playing DIRT to watching the greatest sport in human history. He is up to speed with languages like Python, JS, Go and lately Kotlin.
Elzandro Perils is a Technical Project Manager with great technical project management experience, specializing in networking on various facets of the telecommunications industry. He was born in Port Elizabeth, resides in Johannesburg, and goes by the nickname “EL”. He is a huge Chelsea football fan with Cristiano Ronaldo being his greatest fan. In his spare time, Elzandro works on his own software projects to expand his knowledge and understanding on the market development activities and strategies.
Esther Osei works as a Partner Support Analyst based in Ghana. She joins MFS Africa from Ecobank E-process International South Africa as a Webchat Agent, where she assisted various Ecobank customers all over Africa via the Ecobank Digital chat platform. Prior to this, she worked at Millicom Ghana Limited (now Airtel Tigo) as a Contact Centre Agent and assisted mainly Tigo clients via call with any telecom related inquiries, requests and complaints. Esther holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and French from University of Ghana. She speaks French and English and likes hanging out with friends.
Eunita Nyengo is a Customer Support Agent, who passionate about the intersection between products, services, and people. She strongly believes human relationships are what drive business success. With a background in Finance and Audit, Eunita’s attention to details, analytical and problems solving skills have propelled her to innovatively solve customer problems by proactively engaging customers and interacting across all levels of the org to meet customers’ needs, drive sales and customer retention. Outside of work, she spends time on DIY art projects, ballroom dancing, travelling, and volunteering at a local school.
Fiona Namakula works as a Customer Support Agent, based in Uganda. She began her career as a Customer Service Engineer with Fenix International where she offered technical support to customers. Prior to joining MFS Africa, she worked with the World Vision Food Assistance programs supporting the most vulnerable people, in various communities, to rebuild their lives. She holds a Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science as well as a Diploma in Computer Science and Business Studies. She has a passion for innovation and tech and enjoys using her skills to do meaningful work that impacts peoples' lives. Fiona speaks English, Luganda and basic Kiswahili. She enjoys reading and working out.
Frannie Tyner is an M&A Consultant at MFS Africa. She manages strategy, diligence and ongoing monitoring for the company’s minority investments and acquisitions. Previously she ran pipeline development and impact evaluation for Global Partnership, an impact investment firm based in Nairobi. Before Global Partnership’s, she spent 5 years working with Hall Capital, a $30bn multi-family office based in San Francisco, where she worked across client teams, lead macroeconomic research and supported with fund manager diligence. She lives in Nairobi and has a BA with Honors from UC Berkeley.
Funmi Dele-Giwa serves as our Director of Legal, Regulatory and Governmental Affairs and brings a steady hand and sharp mind to our next level MFS Africa. Funmi joined us from the United Bank for Africa (UK), where she was the Head of Legal & Company Secretary. She is a dual-qualified solicitor with 15 years’ experience in private practice, in the UK and in Nigeria. She holds an LLM in International Corporate Governance & Financial Regulation from the University of Warwick and an LLB, Law from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Funmi is also a Chartered Company Secretary and a Chartered Governance Professional.
Gontse Ranyawa is our Partner Support Analyst with previous experience as a First line Help- desk and Network Monitoring Agent from Reflex Solutions. Driven by the desire to excel in his field of study, he takes pride in providing the best customer experience possible. As a Partner Support Analyst his goals encompasse a seamless incident identification and resolution. In addition to his primary job experience and duties, he studied BSc in Information Technology at Pearson Institute of Higher Education and has knowledge of Windows Server Active Directory User Management, DHCP configurations and Network Infrastructure to mention a few. He enjoys playing football and video games in his spare time.
Maurice manages the Network Operation's team. After obtaining his Masters's in Industrial Engineering in Benin, his thirst for challenge led him to MFS. In his spare time, he enjoys the mystery of a good book and loves to watch National Geographic. He speaks fluent French and English.
Grace Natunda joined the Finance team as a Junior Accountant based in Uganda. Grace studied Commerce with a Finance major at Makerere University and later went on to do ACCA. She joined MFS Africa from Andela where she was an Accounting Coordinator and prior to that, an Auditor with PKF Uganda. Grace who is the 5th of 5 children, loves dancing, photography and travelling (13 countries and counting).
Harun is a passionate tech community builder who manages two vibrant online communities: Lux Tech Academy (organizers of Africa developers conference) and Data Science East Africa (organizers of Africa Data Festivals #DataFestAfrica). He is also a data nerd, and was recently listed among top 100 global future Leaders by “Business of Data”. Harun loves learning about new programming patterns/tools and meeting new people. His favorite pastimes are auto racing, reading books, hiking and programming.
Ibrahim Chakawala is a Partner Support Analyst, born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa, Ibrahim obtained a certificate in Economics and Management Sciences from UNISA and knows some travel agency secrets, since he also holds a certificate in Galileo Travelport! Passionate and eager to learn and grow within the technology space, Ibrahim worked at a remittance and bank transfer company for 6 years, which gave him a solid background of the mobile money world. Ibrahim spends his free time with family and friends and is a big soccer fan.
Iris Zielske works in the product team working with Emerging Enterprise. She has experience in consulting, project management, and operations management in the United States of America and East Africa. Iris has worked on enterprise ERP software implementations for small to medium size companies across a variety of industries and is passionate about efficiency and helping businesses leverage technology to improve their business operations. She has been living in Uganda for close to five years now but is originally from the United States where she grew up near the ocean in sunny south Florida. Iris loves to bake and has expanded her range of recipes during the extra time spent at home.
Jeanne Ongiyo is the Internal Communications Officer based in Nairobi, Kenya. She previously worked as the PR and Media Relations Manager for China Communications Construction Company that constructed the Kenya Standard Gauge Railway. Jeanne holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Communications from Daystar University and is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in the United Kingdom. She is currently undertaking her Masters’ Degree in Diplomacy and Security Studies from Daystar University and is a seasoned journalist and public relations specialist. She handles PR & Media Relations, and is an adrenaline junkie and avid globe trotter.
John Ngari is the Regional VP based in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a Kenyan Financial Services Professional with a passion for using his experience to make a lasting economic and social impact on the continent. He started his career as a Corporate Banking Analyst at Citibank Nairobi in 2011 and progressed his banking career at Stanbic Bank (Standard Bank) as a Risk Manager, and as a Corporate Banker managing Telecomms, Media and Technology Clients (TMT) until 2017. He thereafter made the leap into Fintech, working as Country Manager for Jumo World for 2 years and a short stint as Country Manager, SafeBoda Kenya in 2019-2020. He holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi, and is a Certified Investments and Financial Analyst (CIFA, Kenya). He also holds an Executive Education Certification in Strategic Client Engagement from University of Cape Town, and is currently completing his Masters’ of Science thesis at Kenyatta University, Kenya. When he is not thinking about Finance and Tech ideas, John enjoys photography, a nice game of soccer and the drama of a Formula 1 race.
Joubert Malan is a qualified attorney, who in his professional career specialized in dispute resolution and settlement negotiations. In his previous role, Joubert managed various clients ranging from multi-nationals to SMEs. During his professional career Joubert headed the litigation and commercial department at his firm and dealt primarily with matters involving dispute resolution and settlement negotiations. He holds a LLB degree from the University of Pretoria and enjoys exploring the outdoors, travelling, reading, and is a passionate CrossFit enthusiast.
Joy Obianaba is in-charge of managing the day-to-day activities involved in technical integrations. Her input has been very essential in the expansion of our network of nodes. She has an MBA from ESUT Business School Enugu. For the past 5 years, Joy worked at LloydAnt, a leading EdTech company in Nigeria. She spent her time there integrating learning solutions to payments platforms such as InterSwitch, NIBSS and PayStack. Joy spends her free time playing battle royale games (COD, PUBG) and she's up for a challenge anytime.
Kanam joined MFS Africa as the China JV and E-commerce lead based in Johannesburg. Kanam holds a MSc from the Netherlands and has over 20 years of experience in the mobile and fintech space for NASDAQ and JSE listed companies with clients and programs across Asia, Europe, USA and Africa. Kanam is an enthusiastic skier and tennis player and enjoys exploring new cities with her husband and children. She also adds Mandarin to the collective list of MFS Africa languages.
Kelsay Cox is the Product Director who manages the Beyonic product for enterprise customers, working closely with the Emerging Enterprise team and the tech team to develop new features and improvements. Prior to Beyonic, she worked for One Acre Fund driving technology solutions for client and retail operations. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. She likes to travel and loves to dance - ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hiphop.
Keshav joined MFS Africa as a Business Analyst in the Product team. He is from the amazing tropical island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. He has over 5 years of experience in the Card Payment industry from his previous work at ICPS Ltd(Erstwhile MCB group and now owned by HPS), based in Mauritius. He likes to go on hiking and his favourite sport is Football, himself being a big fan of Liverpool FC.
Kevin joined the product team as a Developer Relations Associate from Hover Developer Services where he was Developer Relations Associate and later Product Marketing manager for their product Stax. He has a vast knowledge of the payments ecosystem having first been involved with KopoKopo in 2013. Kevin has a computer science background and combines this with his experiences working with international communities such as AIESEC and Google Developer Groups to create uniquely engaging experiences for developers. Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya he has been to 6 African countries speaking to and learning from Developers. Kevin enjoys reading and music in his free time. Currently reading Thinking in Bets by Annie Duke and listening to Hart the Band’s album Simple Man.
Kumar Shourav is VP - Partnerships under the Global Payments team, tasked with hunting and forging meaningful partnerships with MTOs globally. Prior to joining MFS Africa , he was a founding team member at TerraPay where he built the business plan, procured licenses across multiple countries, partnered with various financial institutions and launched commercial services of the company. He also held various international Sales and Business Development roles at UAE Exchange and Yabx as well as consulted a few MTO start-ups on their initial launch plan in the fintech industry. Shourav holds an MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, India and a B.Tech. (Hons.) degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, India. He likes to keep himself abreast with new challenges in the industry, travel across multiple countries and interact with people from various backgrounds. Outside of work, he is an avid Cricket fan, likes to read and is passionate about trekking. He speaks English, Hindi and Bengali.
Linda Kamau works as the People Operations Administrator. She is based in Nairobi and over the last 3 years has been running her own business, as a virtual assistant. Linda has a degree in Information Technology but in her early career was exposed to administration focused roles, and found her passion there. She is married with a young son and in her spare time enjoys spending time with family, baking and putting her dance moves to the test on the dance floor! She will be assists People Operations with various administrative duties related to recruitment, onboarding, calendar scheduling and other adhoc projects.
Lydia Kavuu joined MFS Africa as a Treasury Analyst, based in Nairobi, Kenya. She has previously worked at the National Bank of Kenya in various operational capacities for nine years. During her tenure at the National Bank of Kenya, her interest in Financial Markets piqued and she successfully pursued CFA level I and ACI Dealing Certificate. Lydia loves watching European football and is a hardcore Manchester United fan.
Mahesh Kataari is a Senior Test Analyst who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. With vast experience in Software testing, Mahesh has worked with multiple international clients and have domestic exposure through working with the largest Media company in South Africa. He 7 years professional IT experience in software testing which includes both Manual and Automation testing. He has worked on multiple test automation and defect management tools, as well as in a number of different industries including Betting platform, Media, eCommerce, Intranet portals and Finance. Mahesh loves to learn about new test automation tools to give more business value to the client to minimize the cost of test maintenance cost and increase its effectiveness.
Maxwell Dorimonaah is engaged at MFS Africa as a Sales Associate based in Ghana. He studied marketing at the University of Professional Studies in Accra, and prior to joining MFS Africa, he was at Uber as an Account Executive. He is married with two kids and enjoys watching football (EPL), reading and spending time with his family.
Mark Ashdown is the Head of Risk and Compliance, based out of the UK office. He has over 30 years-experience working in banking and financial services organizations, predominantly in Compliance and Internal Audit. He spent 23 years at American Express where he held a number of senior management positions. More recently he spent 6 years at MoneyGram International as Head of European Compliance and also had responsibility for Middle East and Africa region. During his time at both organizations, he oversaw implementation of various Money Laundering and Payment Services regulations as well as governance and risk management frameworks. He is married with three grown up children who have/are going through university, and he is a passionate rugby follower.
Manase Geofrey works at MFS Africa as a Junior Accoutant. He holds an MBA and a BBA in Human Resources Management and is an ACCA student. He is responsible for managing regulatory and legal compliance, tax affairs and assisting accounts managements. He has five years’ experience in tax affairs, accounts management, business and office administration, OHS and human resources management.
Mohamed Khalfan is a Customer Success Agent for Emerging Enterprise. He has extensive experience with MTN systems having worked in the MTN support team for 5 years as part of the mobile money and data services team. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics Management. Having been born in Mombasa, he brings the calm Swahili attitude to the fast paced, English/Luganda speaking market. Mohamed is an arden reader and to blow off steam, he once took a 100km bike ride from Kampala to Zirobwe on his momentum z3 hybrid road bike.
Neville Mabasa joined MFS Africa from CMC networks where he was a Network Engineer. He was born in Soweto and was raised in a Christian family as the eldest of three siblings. He has an Information Technology Degree from Rosebank College and an ITIL version 4 certificate from CTU Training Solutions. He enjoys giving back and previously volunteered as a caregiver for orphans and vulnerable children at Usizo-Thuso Community Centre. He is a fitness enthusiast, loves to read in his spare time and speaks Xitsonga, Tshivenda, IsiZulu and Sepedi.
Nick Hargreaves works as the Director of Software Development Technology. He joined the FinTech space in 2016 as a Software Engineer at Beyonic which was later acquired by MFS Africa. As the Tech Director for Emerging Enterprise at MFS Africa, Nick manages the tech teams and development processes for various products including Beyonic. Before FinTech, Nick worked in the Open Data space with CodeForAfrica, Open Institute and Code4Kenya where he collaborated with various newsrooms to build useful tools for the society.
Nika is the Director for Strategic Projects at MFS Africa. In this role, she identifies and execute strategic initiatives aiming at sustaining and accelerating growth and entrenching MFS Africa as a key player in the payment ecosystem. She also supports MFS Africa’s CEO, Dare Okoudjou, in defining and refining the company strategy. Prior to this, she led the Data and Insights portfolio of the GSMA’s Mobile Money Programme. Here, she supported the growth of the mobile money and digital financial inclusion sectors. She has authored several key reports including the flagship State of the Industry Report on Mobile Money, strategic publications on potential pathways for evolving the mobile money business model and how mobile money providers can adapt their strategy to a platform-based approach. She produced the very first large-sample quantitative analysis on the expansion of digital financial services in collaboration with Harvard Business School and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She also published the first-ever comprehensive analysis of the costs of international remittances via mobile money and reports on how mobile money can help to accelerate the digitisation and formalisation of international remittances. Beyond expertise in research, innovation consulting and frameworks, building teams and operational structures, she has a broad knowledge of ICT4D-related topics. This includes financial inclusion for women and reaching the last mile, digital humanitarian assistance, digital identity, and mobile-enabled utilities. Nika holds a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the Centre for Telecommunications Research at King’s College London.
Lionel Amah joined MFS Africa in Ghana from eProcess International, the IT service management arm of Ecobank, where he was a service desk analyst. He was born in Ghana, and studied Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Engineering. He has worked both in Ghana and Togo and is fluent in French. As a Partner Support Analyst, Lionel has a very customer centric approach and loves to solve problems, whatever it takes.
Rebecca Noyes works as the Group Financial Controller in the Finance & Administration team where she enjoys working with outcome-driven people and learning from them. She is passionate about driving company efficiency through improved operational structures, data-driven decision-making, transparency, and equipping teams to be effective. Rebecca holds an MBA from INSEAD and brings 10 years of experience in financial services to the team. She has worked in the US, Kenya (covering East Africa), and DRC. Her roles have ranged from producing financial data and supporting financial planning and analysis; serving as a country CFO in DRC; and, most recently, regional CFO for East Africa, working with country CFOs in 6 countries to strengthen their finance departments. She is an American, born and raised in DRC, currently living in Nairobi, Kenya with her husband. She loves travelling, the outdoors, listening to and playing music, reading, and sharing food with friends.
Reghardt van Dyk is a Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner: Partner Portal (reporting), Business Intelligence, and Internal tools. He ensures our partners have an intuitive portal for all their transaction and balance reporting needs. Reghardt also supports our internal, data-driven decision-making initiative by ensuring the right people have the right data at the right time to make those critical calls. He also supports all internal tools used throughout the organization. He holds a BCom in Informatics and has prior experience in payment portals, android applications and ERP development, finance, consultancy, supply chain & logistics, customer relations management, and more.
Regina is a Senior Software Developer .She graduated from The University of Cape Town(Electrical & Computer Engineering). Before joining MFS Africa, she was a software Engineer at Vodacom, launching some of the key features on MyVodacom App, VodaPay and the Kiosk to Vodacom customers and Thus, enabling Vodacom business to execute their strategy . Her hobbies include running, hiking, gaming and gardening. love games, both digital and board games and her love for games had her invested in game development, where she got to travel the world exhibiting games at conferences and festivals.
Robert Kola, Bobby, is an Engineer by training with a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. He considers himself as a digital products and services expert and has over 20 years of international experience. He has a keen interest in the 'Africa opportunity' and helping technology companies, multinational companies, regional enterprises, and banks to tap into the tremendous prospects therein. Bobby is currently the Regional Director with MFS Africa, looking after business development to banks in East and Southern Africa. Previously Bobby worked for Standard Chartered Bank and the Ecobank Regional Office. His last roles were, Regional Head for Transactional Services for Ecobank for Central, East and Southern Africa; Director and Head of Global Sales Africa, based out of Johannesburg, for Standard Chartered Bank. Bobby is a keen runner, spends time thinking through and implementing practical ways of getting select people out of ‘the cycle of poverty’, and enjoys restoring classic European vehicles.
Rosemary Njonge is a Customer Success Agent for Emerging Enterprise. She has actively worked in the banking sector over the past 5years as a Customer Service Agent and Premium Banker. She has a Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Science ) and currently pursuing an MBA in Strategic Management. In her free time, she loves to get in touch with nature, so she does a lot of nature walks and boasts of her deep diving exploits. Rumor has it that she may be a mermaid from all the swimming she does.
Rumana Ali is the Compliance & Risk Officer based in the UK. Rumana has over 6 years compliance experience; she started off at a Fintech organisation called Currencycloud before moving into Real Estate compliance, and more recently she worked in the Crypto currency sector for Coinbase an Wirex. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and dabbling in photography as well as travelling.
Samukeliso Sibanda was born and raised in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and currently works as a Reconciliation Analyst. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science (BCompt.) degree from UNISA and is studying towards the CIMA designation. Samukeliso has worked at Intdev Internet Technologies, an ISP, Morecorp, a sports retailer and most recently The Four Seasons Hotel. He is an avid reader, hiker and hardcore Jazz-head who speaks fluent IsiNdebele/Zulu, English and a little bit of Sotho.
Sandy is our PepOps Manager based in Nairobi.Sandy brings with her over 8 years of PepOps experience, and is the go-to person for all PepOps systems, tools, and processes. In her non-work time Sandy enjoys watching series, reading novels and spending quality time with family and friends.
Sherine Belaid works in the MFS Africa London office as a Junior Associate within the Legal team. She is a French qualified lawyer, and before joining MFS Africa, Sherine worked as an in-house lawyer in a telecommunication company (MVNO) in London. Prior to that she was a lawyer at Allen & Overy and a financial lawyer at Societe General Bank in Paris. Sherine holds two Masters’ degrees from University René Descartes in European and Business Law. She likes cooking, travelling, and discovering new cultures.
Sinaly has served the banking sector in West African Regional Banks namely as Marketing and Product Director, Head of Transaction banking and Head of IT for 17 years. He brings in a wealth of experience and versatility in the banking industry: technology, product development, innovation, market and gap analysis, marketing and communication, brand management, sales, quality of service. Prior to joining MFS Africa, he was a banking consultant in digital finance and Islamic finance for over a year. As such, he worked with incubators on behalf of UNCDF for the support and capacity building of young Fintech entrepreneurs in Burkina Faso. Also, he was the West Africa Representative of the Institution AlHuda Center Of Islamic Banking and Economics (CIBE), a pioneering organization based in Dubai that works diligently for the promotion of banking and of Islamic finance. Sinaly is a graduate of the Sorbonne Business School (France), the Institut des Techniques Bancaires (France), the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Polytechnic Institute (Côte d'Ivoire) and the London School of Modern Studies (United Kingdom). He is passionate about Fintech and financial inclusion in Africa, and enjoys spending time with his family, cooking and reading.
Susan has over 10 years experience working in various positions in Fintech and Telecommunications. She worked as a Customer Service Representative in Airtel Kenya and Jumo Kenya. She holds a BCOM Accounting degree in BCOM from Egerton University of Kenya. She is a mother of 3 - 1 boy and 2 girls - loves travelling and hiking. She speaks English and Swahili and is looking forward to learning French in the near future!
Tanya Alvis joined MFS Africa as the VP of Expansions East Africa (Network) and her mission is to make sure we have full MNO/Bank coverage in the region. Tanya is passionate about Pan-African development and holds a duo Masters’ in International Relations and Development studies. She has lived/worked in the UK, Switzerland, China and Ghana. She is based in Nairobi for now with the hopes of splitting her time between Ghana and Nairobi in the near future.
Teresia Mugwe works in the Global Payments team as the Key Account Manager, Africa MNOs. She joined MFS Africa from Safaricom PLC where she undertook various roles, the most recent one being as a National Account Manager, Safaricom PLC, where she handled Multinational Organizations (Key Vodafone Global Accounts) and Financial Institutions (Banking and Insurance). Teresia is a focused and innovative account executive and brings a wealth of experience in managing multiple client projects across different Telco products. Her goal is to ensure that all clients get stellar customer service as she believes that people are the key to any organization. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance (Financial Engineering) from Strathmore University. When she is not managing demanding telco partners, she loves the outdoors, and her hobbies include swimming and reading.
Yves Muhinda is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and he works as a Partner Support Analyst. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Business IT and gained work experience while studying at the University of Johannesburg as both a Student Assistant and an Academic Tutor. He believes his role will utilize both his technical and customer services skills. He speaks English, French and Swahili and likes to go the extra mile in all that he does.

Oriaku Eke started his career as a Software Engineer where he worked across different industries and helped organizations design, build software solution that automated business processes andincreased organization efficiency. Eke has well over 8 years as a software engineer.Due to his interest in managing people, processes and knack to setting deadlinesand achieving project objectives to attain a larger goal, he switched careers in 2016 and took up project management roles, where he oversaw project activities from initiation to completion. He strongly believes that if IT projects are well-managed and scoped,organization they will save a lot of human and capital resources.Out of office hours, he is a tech tutor and a big fan of basketball.
Pierre-Paul Rasle joins the Legal & Regulatory Affairs department as a Paralegal in the London office. Specialized in corporate and commercial law, he had various experiences in France as legal counsel in different law firms and law departments. He also worked on legal crisis management. After finishing his legal studies in France, Pierre-Paul completed an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law at Queen Mary University of London which helped him to strengthen his knowledges on financial regulation issues.
Paul assumed this role at the start of 2021, having previously been our Head of Treasury. He is responsible for our relationships with all the MNOs in Africa to drive growth and sustainability of intra-Africa mobile remittances. Paul joined MFS Africa in 2018, having gained a wealth of experience in the Telecoms sector occupying senior and executive roles for almost 20 years in Africa and the Middle East. His has worked for multinational organisations like Shell, MTN Group, Virgin Mobile and Safaricom. An accountant turned commercial executive, he is married with 3 children and loves reading, playing tennis and travelling.
Zama is the Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing where she tells the MFS Africa to the continent and the world. Zama has over 14 years’ experience in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors in strategic communications, brand, stakeholder engagement, management consulting. Through her work, she has assisted organisations and projects in different industries to build capabilities that connect them with various segments of the public, in support of their organisational missions. In her previous position, Zama was the Communications Manager at the South African Reserve Bank. She is currently the Chairperson of the National Development Agency in South Africa. Before joining the SARB, she was Deputy Managing Director of Digify Africa (formerly Livity Africa), Director (Communications) at the National Planning Commission Secretariat in the South African Presidency; and also worked as a management consultant at Accenture for nearly six years. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Johannesburg and a BAdmin Honours degree in Public Policy and Management from Stellenbosch University. Zama is fluent in English, a native Zulu speaker and can speak conversational Setswana. She is a published author and a columnist for Fin24.
Maureen manages client accounts within the Enterprise Global Payments Team. Prior to that, she was a Business Development Associate. Before joining MFS Africa, Maureen worked with Awamo GmbH, ICEA Life Assurance and Airtel Uganda. She holds a Bachelors degree in Development Studies and a Professional Diploma in Purchasing and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) UK. Outside work, Maureen loves watching Crime and Investigation themed shows.
Assumpta has more than 7 years of overall experience in mobile money compliance, Account management and administration duties. She is responsible for after-sale customer account management, Customer KYC and Compliance and Liaising with customers and partner at MFS Africa. Some of her career highlights include collecting/filing customer registration documents to make sure MFS Africa works with legit partners and customers. She is also the face of the company while interacting with customers on the new products and services. Mobile Money Administrator at MTN Uganda, where she was responsible for furnished compliance and proper storage of KYC. Assumpta has been in charge of updating customers on the missing and newly introduced kyc on the lists. She previoulsy worked at Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFEB) where was responsible for data entry and management of the designated accounts in the system. She holds a bachelor’s degree of Science in Accounting and Finance from Kyambogo University with a continuing professional course as a certified Public Accountant, Uganda.
Cecilia has more than 7 years in the Information Technology Industry. She is responsible for defining quality standards and testing strategies, establishing formal QA processes, and overseeing adherence of the Beyonic product to ensure that the product being released is up to industry and company standards. Prior to joining MFS Africa, she spent one and half years, as Beyonic Ltd’s Technical Project Manager & Quality Assurance Engineer, focusing on expanding and maintaining Beyonic’s telco framework across East Africa and ensuring the distribution of a quality-based user-friendly platform. She began her career as an IT Associate at Grameen Foundation/AppLab. She holds a B. Sc - IT & Ent from Uganda Christian University. Fluent in English and Luganda.
Ali joined MFS Africa from a vast experience in business development, strategy and sales across the continent. With a start-up-oriented mindset, Ali has a deep passion for detailed execution, an identification of opportunities at an early stage and a transversal approach when it comes to business expansion. Ali was recently Country Manager at InTouch covering Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Egypt. Prior to that position, he was Partnerships Manager covering Ivory Coast, Mali, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Kenya and Guinee Conakry. Ali is a citizen of Burkina Faso, and a Fulbright Scholar with a master’s degree from the Brandeis International Business School (Massachusetts, USA). He is a soccer fan and enjoys technology documentaries.
Marcellin has 10 years’ experience in the payment industry. He started his career with money transfer companies (Quickcash & Sigue Global Services) as a Support manager. He joins us from ATPS Cote d’Ivoire where he was a Business Development manager for two years. Marcellin is a soccer fan and loves spending quality time with his wife and three children.
Eva is really a master of scrum with over 5 years experience leading scrum teams. She brings to the team years of experience from Safaricom Kenya where she's formed and taken scrum teams to maturity. Eva runs an initiative called the big sister and this stems from her passion in providing guidance and setting a good example to young women. She's been inspiring in her circles.
Andy focuses on the two key areas of improvement from the Employee Experience survey - Information flow and Recognition. She is not only passionate about creating an amazing experience for employees but also knows our business well, to help us drive the implementation of these key initiatives. Andy dives into the opportunities and challenges that will ease the flow of knowledge across the business and look at strategy, processes and tools that will underpin effective knowledge management. She helps MFS Africa become an organisation which is able to recognise and appreciate both individual and team work.
Reginald joined the Tech team as a Systems Administrator to be based in Ghana. Reginald has got about 10 years of experience in the IT field, and was one of the legends who traveled to India to hone his skills back in the day. Reginald joins us from Tsolnetworks Limited Ghana.
Hina helps accelerate our licensing roadmap for 2021. She has worked in a range of project management roles since 2016 on projects based in the UK, Japan, Ghana and South Sudan. Hina has a BA (Hons) in English Literature at the University of York, a Graduate Diploma of Law, Legal Practice Course and a MSc in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and keeping up her fitness in various ways through running and swimming.
Yogo is a seasoned executive with a strong business development background within the telecommunication and fintech spaces spanning over 2 decades. He has been instrumental to the first mobile data services experience in the DRC at the launch of 2.75G and related services in 2006. In 2008, He drove the Sub-Saharan Africa footprint expansion of Integrat Mobile Aggregation and in 2016 He joined MFS Africa as the Commercial Director with M-Pesa, MoMo and Airtel Money in his portfolio within the South & East Africa region. As Chief Revenue Office of Siyavula Education, Yogo drove the adoption of Omidyar and Shuttleworth foundation investee in Rwanda with MTN and the Rwanda Education Board as an Edtech promoting a Machine Learning Based Math and Science application for high-schoolers paving the way for a partnership with Mastercard Foundation in the Country. He now lives in the DRC with his wife and his 2 children after spending 14 year in South Africa. As a man of faith, Yogo serves as a Deacon at Loveworld, Inc. Yogo holds a Honours Degree in Business Oriented Computing from the Protestant University of Congo and an MBA from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
Lena works in the Group Due Diligence Operations to ensure that new partners and new use cases are onboarded appropriately from a compliance and risk aspect which includes quality assurance on KYC, CDD (Customer Due Diligence) and EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence). Her background spans through IT audits and financial crime risk with experience at risk advisory and financial services where she has provided EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) and KYC (Know Your Customer) recommendations to clients, managed IT audits and conducted quality assurance on EDD reviews. She holds a BCom in Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand, a PDBA from Wits Business School and has completed compliance and AML certification courses from the University of Cape Town and University of Pretoria. She enjoys travelling, the outdoors and has a love for dogs.
Thokozile joined MFS Africa from Cassava Fintech, where she was the Head of Regulatory and Compliance. She is a compliance and regulatory professional with over 10 years’ experience in the regulatory, remittances, payments, finance and fintech sectors. She is responsible for ensuring strategic, operational efficiency and effectiveness in due diligence processes & procedures for partners and stakeholders within the MFS Africa ecosystem to support our group expansion goals. Some of her achievements include the establishment of Cassava Fintech’s compliance function and facilitating Cassava Fintech’s financial services application/approval with the South African Reserve Bank. She also facilitated compliance and regulatory approvals for Econet Group remittances projects across multiple African jurisdictions including Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Eswatini as a Financial Investments and Compliance Advisor. She holds Bachelors and Honours degrees in Economics, from the University of Pretoria, a Masters in Management Finance and Investments from WITS Business School as well as various compliance and payments certificates.
Steve’s role is to deeply understand the FinTech Space, the SMME Space, and develop both relationships and strategies for current and potential customers. Growth/Marketing is his DNA. He has extensive experience in Growth and Marketing roles spanning over 12 years in various organizations in the continent. He comes with extensive knowledge and networks in the African markets. He has worked in and consulted for various organizations including Blackbet/Betty Bingo (Growth Lead – Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, DRC, Malawi) Chipper Cash (EA Head of Comms & Marketing), Betway (Brand, PR & Marketing Manager) – among others. Suchi is Kenyan, born and bred. Besides the growth roles that really excite him, he is a retired celebrated rugby player having played for various top flight clubs in Kenya but still loves the sport! He also loves traveling, both on road and flight, and is a foodie! He loves experiencing new cultures and meeting and interacting with people from different walks of life.
Meghan works in the CEO Office ensuring the acquisitions in West Africa. Prior to joining MFS Africa, Meghan was a Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Johannesburg. She spent nearly 15 years with BCG, working across North America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. At BCG, she partnered with and led executive-level client teams through transformational change, including strategic growth programs and operating model transformation. Meghan has a strong passion for people development and diversity & inclusion initiatives, and served as the leader of BCG's women's network in Johannesburg and San Francisco, as well as a career development advisor. She holds a BS from Wharton and an MBA from Kellogg. Outside of work, Meghan enjoys spending time outdoors, practicing yoga, reading, travelling, and playing soccer.

He most recently worked with Provantage International (Operations), SA Retail Guru (Telecoms Team Manager) and Trace Mobile SA (Finance Administrative Coordinator). Paul is originally from the DRC and has spent the last 17 years of his life in South Africa. During his free time Paul enjoys Basketball several days in the week and hiking.
Steve is a multi-talented Partner Support Analyst with a decade of customer experience assisting customers online, answering phone inquiries and face-to-face interactions. He joins us most recently from MTN Uganda and is based in Kampala. Steve is a strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace, loves challenges and new experiences. Steve enjoys playing the odd video game, reading trivia or novels but can also be found outdoors on long hikes or bike rides should the opportunity arise.
Fulufhelo holds an LLB and an LLM (Company Law), both from Wits University, and prior to joining MFS Africa worked as a Legal Manager at Sanlam and as an Associate at Webber Wentzel. She enjoys reading, traveling, a mix of being in nature and architecture.
Andrew works as a Business Analyst. He is highly driven and intrigued by the evolving technologies that shape the future of Digital Financial Services. Prior to joining MFS Africa, he worked at DPO Group in a number of functions spanning Operations, Business Development and Technology for the last 5 years. His last assignment was Manager, Systems and Solutions, leading a team of specialists in managing key projects, and maintaining the Group's systems that embeds the company's solutions, products and APIs. Andrew is passionate about technology and the autonomy that it gives to create innovative solutions that fit the ever-changing client needs. Away from work, he is very sporty, enjoys running and playing football, which he is also a big fan of. If he is indoors, he is probably re-watching one of the marvel movies which he's already watched countless times before.
Younice was Born and raised in Kinshasa (DRC). After graduating as a financial accountant she moved to South Africa in search of the best career path. To reach her goals, she had to learn a new language, new culture and different accounting systems by completing an ICB course (Institute of Certified Bookkeeper) at Boston college. Additionally, she loves researching, studying and preaching the Bible's message.
Maria joined MFS Africa in the newly formed role of Ghana Compliance Officer based in Accra. She worked for the last 4 years as Compliance Manager at Zeepay in Ghana. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Banking and Finance) from the University of Ghana. Her hobbies include reading, listening to music, watching documentaries and movies, photography, Information Technology and Internet appreciation.
Sonja brings many years of experience with her leading large Customer Support Teams at some of Africa’s leading Telco operators such as Cell C and Vodacom, as well as managing multinational vendors, both in the UK and South Africa. She also has worked in the Finance and Investment Banking, Cyber Insurance & Insurance, Property Management and Bursary Management industries. Sonja is deeply passionate about perfecting and continuously improving Customer Experience (CX) processes and building exceptional service teams. Sonja’s mission is empowering and uplifting people through serving, which she refers to as ‘servant leadership’. Sonja is a proud single mom to an exceptional teenage daughter. She joins us fitness folks at MFS Africa - she loves keeping fit and spending time outdoors as a competitive Equestrian Show Jumper and also enjoys mountain biking. She starts every morning in the gym, and in her words, ‘not only to beat commuter traffic but also to set up the day for success.’
